Jesus slept through a storm His disciples thought would kill them, then stood and spoke to the sea: “Silence! Be still!” The same voice still quiets storms, including the ones inside. He promised His friends: “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you.”
These prayers are for the racing mind at midnight, the day that won’t let go of you, and the rest that sleep alone doesn’t give.
Psalm 46:10
Lord, You say to me, “Be still and know that I am God.” So I stop. I lay down my hurry, my noise and my need to control what happens next. You are God, and I am not. You will be exalted among the nations and over the earth, and over this day of mine too. Quiet my heart, and let me know You. Amen.

Lord, You will keep in perfect peace the steadfast of mind, the one who trusts in You. My mind is not steady today. It jumps from one worry to the next.
