Psalm 32:8
Psalm 32:8 is a promise of guidance in a psalm of David, which comes right after he tells how God forgave him when he finally confessed his sin.
Lord, I have been trying to find my own way, and I am tired. You promise to instruct me and teach me the way I should go, so I am listening. Give me counsel when I am unsure, and watch over me as I walk. Keep me from being stubborn, like a horse that has to be pulled by a bridle. Make me willing to be led by You. Amen.

Psalm 32 begins with joy: “Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven.” David remembers how heavy he felt while he kept silent about his sin, and the relief when he confessed it and God forgave him. Then, in verse 8, the voice changes: “I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go.” Many readers hear the LORD Himself answering here; others hear David passing on what he has learned. Either way, the promise rests on God’s care, the One who will counsel you and watch over you. Verse 9 adds a warning not to be like a horse or mule that has to be steered with bit and bridle. God would rather guide a willing heart than drag a stubborn one. The psalm ends with loving devotion surrounding the one who trusts in the LORD. This prayer is for anyone at a crossroads, unsure of the next step, who wants to be led.
