About this picture

A wooden fishing boat rides the last big waves on the Sea of Galilee. Jesus, in a white robe and blue mantle, stands with His hand raised over the water while the disciples hold on to the mast and ropes and one bails water with a jar. A net, a basket of fish, oars, a lantern and a red cushion are in the boat, gulls are coming back, and a village and a rocky shore wait in the distance. Mark 4 tells how Jesus was asleep on a cushion in the stern, woke up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and it was perfectly calm.

Every round hides five differences, picked at random from about a dozen painted into this scene, so playing it again gives you a new set. Tap a difference on either picture to circle it; pinch or tap 🔍 to look closer. Free, with no download and no account.

The story

Soon a violent windstorm came up, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was being swamped. But Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Him and said, “Teacher, don’t You care that we are perishing?” Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the sea. “Silence!” He commanded. “Be still!” And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm.Mark 4:37–39 (BSB)
