About this picture

On the path in front of the family farm, a father in a fine red robe holds his thin, ragged son in his arms. Servants hurry out of the house with a robe and a pair of sandals, a dog runs to meet them, and the fattened calf stands in its pen. Hens, sheep, grapes on the vine, water jars, a cart of hay and, far off, the older brother plowing with an ox complete the farm. In Luke 15 Jesus tells of a son who wasted everything and came home, and a father who ran to welcome him.

Every round hides five differences, picked at random from about a dozen painted into this scene, so playing it again gives you a new set. Tap a difference on either picture to circle it; pinch or tap 🔍 to look closer. Free, with no download and no account.

The story

So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still in the distance, his father saw him and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. The son declared, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let us feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again! He was lost and is found!’ So they began to celebrate.Luke 15:20–24 (BSB)
