Memory Verses for Bible Stories for Sunday school and home
Teaching a Bible story this week and need a memory verse to go with it? Here is one for each of 41 favorite stories, from creation and Noah’s ark to David and Goliath, Daniel in the lions’ den, the birth of Jesus, Zacchaeus, Easter and Paul in prison. Most come from the story itself, so the verse and the lesson fit together.
Each verse is short enough for children, word for word from the Berean Standard Bible, with a line on how it connects to the story. Press Practice to play the disappearing-words game with your class on a screen, print the flashcards to send home, or tick the verses off as your Sunday school year goes.

How to teach a memory verse with a Bible story
- Tell the story first. Then show where the verse comes from in it. A verse tied to a story children love is much easier to remember.
- Say it together five times. Once normally, once whispering, once loud, once standing, once from memory. Children love the variety.
- Play the disappearing words. Put Practice mode on the classroom screen and press the right arrow: the class says it each time a few more words vanish.
- Send it home. Print the flashcards and send this week’s verse home, so families can practice it at dinner.
- Review at the start of class. Begin each week by saying last week’s verse. Children are proud of what they remember.
