About this plan
Several people in this plan were young when God called them. Joseph was seventeen when his brothers sold him. Daniel and his friends were young men far from home when they refused to give up their faith. David was the youngest son when he was anointed king, Josiah began to seek God while he was still young, and Jeremiah protested that he was only a child. Their stories come first, then Proverbs on friends and wisdom, then who Jesus is in the Gospel of John.
The last week reads the letters: no condemnation in Christ, not copying the world, your body and purity, saved by grace for a purpose, anxiety, doubts, the words you say and post, and Paul telling young Timothy, “Let no one despise your youth.” Each day takes about 3–4 minutes. Read it on your own, with a friend, or with your youth group.
How to keep going
- Pray before you read. Ask God to open your eyes to His word. If you want words to start with, here is a prayer before reading the Bible.
- Same time, same place. Tie your reading to something you already do every day: the first coffee, the lunch break, the last ten minutes before bed.
- Write one line. After reading, jot down one verse that stood out and one sentence about it. Some people use S.O.A.P.: Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer. New to this? Read how to read the Bible and how to have a quiet time.
- Read with someone. Share the link with a friend, your spouse or your small group and read the same plan. A short message (“Day 12 done!”) keeps both of you going.
- Missed a day? Keep going. Read today’s reading and catch up on a weekend, or just carry on. The aim is not a perfect checklist but time with God in His word.
Questions
What age is this plan for?
Teenagers, about 13 to 18. Each day is one chapter with a title, so it works for a first-time Bible reader as well as for someone who grew up in church.
How long does each day take?
About 3–4 minutes: one chapter a day for 30 days, and every chapter can be read right here on your phone.
Can a youth group use this plan?
Yes. Everyone reads the same day at home, and the group talks about the week’s readings when it meets. Share the link: each person’s place is saved on their own phone, with no account needed.
