Proverbs 3:5-6
Father, I have carried this choice alone for too long, turning it over and over. I trust You with all my heart. I stop leaning on what I cannot figure out. Lead me — make my path straight, and I will walk where You walk. Amen.

Proverbs 3 is part of a father's instruction to his son, teaching him how to build a life on wisdom rather than self-reliance. Verses 5-6 form one of the most quoted pieces of practical wisdom in Scripture: 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.' The instruction is not to stop thinking, but to stop treating your own limited understanding as the final authority — to bring every decision, not just the spiritual ones, under God's guidance. The promise attached is direction, not necessarily an easy road: a path made straight, not a path made short. This is a prayer for the exhausting work of trying to reason your way through a decision entirely on your own.
