Peace & Rest
Lay It Down Tonight
Matthew 11:28
Lord, I bring You the whole day — the done and the undone. You said come, so I come. Take the weight from my hands tonight, and give me the rest You promised. Amen.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
Matthew 11:28 comes in the middle of a chapter where Jesus is speaking to crowds worn down by the religious system of His day — people carrying the weight of endless rules and expectations with no relief in sight. Into that exhaustion He speaks an open invitation, not a requirement: 'Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' He does not ask what kind of burden it is or whether it's deserved; the only qualification for coming is being tired. The rest promised here is not a reward for finishing the work but a gift offered in the middle of it, simply for showing up. This is a prayer for the end of a long day, when you have nothing left to prove and just need to set the weight down.
A new voiced prayer each day — for the morning, the commute, the sleepless 3 a.m.
