The Bible story
Moses and the Burning Bush
Moses was looking after sheep near Horeb, the mountain of God, when he saw a bush on fire that did not burn up. God called to him from the bush and told him to take off his sandals, because he was standing on holy ground. Then God sent Moses back to Egypt to lead His people out of slavery.
“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”
