The Bible story
Gideon’s Horns and Torches
God sent Gideon against the huge Midianite army with only 300 men, so that Israel would know the victory came from Him. At night they surrounded the enemy camp with horns, and torches hidden inside jars. At Gideon’s signal they blew the horns, smashed the jars and shouted, and the whole army ran away.
The three companies blew their horns and shattered their jars. Holding the torches in their left hands and the horns in their right hands, they shouted, “A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!”
