The Bible story
David the Shepherd Boy
Before he was king, David looked after his father’s sheep near Bethlehem. He was a skilled musician, and when King Saul was troubled, David played the harp for him and Saul felt better. Many of the psalms are songs David wrote.
And whenever the spirit from God came upon Saul, David would pick up his harp and play. Then Saul would find relief and feel better, and the spirit of distress would depart from him.
