About this painting
Jesus faces you in soft golden light, offering both hands, palms up, each holding a small glow of light. It goes with John 14, on the evening of the Last Supper: Jesus tells his disciples that he is leaving them his own peace, not the kind the world gives, so that their hearts need not be troubled or afraid.
Choose 8 or 15 big pieces for a few quiet minutes, or 45 and 60 for a longer sit. Each piece turns from grey to full color as it lands and rings the next note of Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow. Free, with no download, no account and no ads; your place is saved in this browser.
The passage
All this I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you. Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.John 14:25–27 (BSB)
A prayer to finish with
Lord, my peace keeps running out with the day's news. Yours doesn't. You said: My peace I give to you, not as the world gives. I open my hands and take it tonight. Amen.
