The Bible story
On the day Jesus rose, two of His followers were walking to a village called Emmaus, talking sadly about everything that had happened. Jesus came up and walked with them, but they did not recognize Him. He explained the Scriptures to them, and when He broke the bread at their table, their eyes were opened.
And as they talked and deliberated, Jesus Himself came up and walked along with them.
