The Bible story
John the Baptist was preaching and baptizing people in the Jordan River. When Jesus came to be baptized, the heavens opened and the Spirit of God came down on Him like a dove, and a voice spoke from heaven.
And a voice from heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased!”
— Matthew 3:17 (BSB)
