Psalm 130:6
Lord, at 3 a.m. I feel like the only one awake. But You didn't send me to stand this watch alone — You came and stood it with me. Let me stop fighting the night and wait beside You, shoulder to shoulder, till the light comes. Amen.

Psalm 130 is one of the Songs of Ascents, sung by pilgrims climbing toward Jerusalem, and it begins in the worst place a person can pray from: 'Out of the depths I cry to you.' The image in verse 6 is drawn from real work. Night watchmen stood on the city walls in shifts, straining east through the dark — not hoping the morning might come, but knowing it would, and waiting for the exact moment the horizon cracked gold. That is the psalmist's picture of waiting on God: not anxious pacing, but a watch kept with certainty. The night is real, the waiting is long, and the morning is not in doubt.
