Pray for the United States now

It is morning in Washington, D.C.

Lord, morning has come to the United States. Be with everyone starting the day there: parents waking children, workers on their way, the sick, the lonely and the grieving. Give Your people there joy in You and courage to speak of Jesus, and open many hearts to the good news. Let Your name be praised there today. Amen.

First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone— for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity.
