Zephaniah 3:17
The prophet Zephaniah, who prophesied in the days of King Josiah, closes his book of warnings with this promise to Jerusalem (Zephaniah 3:14-17).
Lord, I forget that You delight in me. Your word says You rejoice over me with singing. Let me hear even one note of that song tonight, and let it quiet everything else. Amen.

Zephaniah is one of the Old Testament's harshest books of judgment, warning Judah of coming disaster because of idolatry and injustice. Then, in its final chapter, the tone turns completely: the prophet promises a day when God Himself will be 'among you,' not as judge but as a rejoicing presence — rejoicing over His people 'with singing,' the way a parent might sing over a child. It is one of the Bible's few pictures of God's own delight expressed out loud, not just His mercy extended reluctantly. This is a prayer for the times you feel like a disappointment to God, when you need to hear that His posture toward you can be joy, not just tolerance.
