Anxiety & Fear

He Hasn't Left.

Mark 5:36

You walk alone. You thought My silence meant I left. I was here, every step. Do not be afraid. I never left.

The Scripture

“Do not fear, only believe.”

— Mark 5:36

About this verse

Mark 5 tells of Jairus, a synagogue leader who begged Jesus to come heal his dying daughter. On the way, messengers arrive with the worst possible news: 'Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?' It is the moment every hope seems to have run out. Jesus, overhearing, speaks directly into that despair: 'Do not fear, only believe.' He does not turn back — He keeps walking toward the house, and the story ends in the girl being raised. The delay that looked like absence was never abandonment; He was moving toward the need the whole time. This is a prayer for the stretch of waiting where God's silence feels like He has left, when what's needed is the reminder that He is still walking toward you.
