Anxiety & Fear
Your Days Were Written
Psalm 139:16
Lord, my life feels off-script — but You wrote my days before one of them came to be. Help me live today's page the way You wrote it, without fear of the next. Amen.

“In Your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”
— Psalm 139:16
Psalm 139:16 is part of David's meditation on being fully known by God, from before birth through every stage of life. The verse describes God's book in which every one of David's days was written before any of them had happened, an image of a life planned and known in advance rather than assembled by accident. David isn't claiming to understand how his life will unfold; the whole psalm is built on the tension between how thoroughly God knows him and how little David can search out on his own. The confidence here is not in having a script memorized, but in trusting the One who wrote it. This is a prayer for when life feels chaotic, off-course, or directionless, and you need to trust that today still has purpose even without seeing the whole plan.
A new voiced prayer each day — for the morning, the commute, the sleepless 3 a.m.
