Luke 24 closes the Gospel with Jesus leading his disciples out near Bethany forty days after his resurrection. His final recorded act before being carried up into heaven was not a warning or a farewell speech, but a blessing — hands raised over the very people who had doubted, scattered, and denied him during his arrest. The ascension marked the end of his physical presence with them and the beginning of his reign, understood in Christian teaching as Christ now interceding and ruling rather than being absent. The image of hands still lifted in blessing as he departs frames absence not as abandonment but as ongoing care from a different vantage point. This is a prayer for trusting that Jesus is near and active even when he feels physically absent from your circumstances.
