Matthew 6:34
Father, I've been holding tomorrow so tightly my hands ache. I keep gripping what I cannot control — things that aren't even here yet. Teach me to open my hands. Today, You already hold everything tomorrow will need. I don't have to carry it. I trust You with the day I cannot see. Amen.

Matthew 6:34 closes a section of the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus points to birds fed without storehouses and flowers clothed without labor, arguing that the God who cares for them will care for the people He calls His own. His conclusion is blunt and practical: don't be anxious about tomorrow, because today already has enough trouble of its own without borrowing more from a future that hasn't arrived. Jesus isn't dismissing real responsibility; He's addressing the mental habit of gripping a future we cannot control while the present slips by unlived. The teaching invites listeners to open their hands rather than clench them around what tomorrow might bring. This is a prayer for the person whose mind keeps racing ahead to problems that haven't happened yet.
