Psalm 119:105
Lord, I keep trying to see the whole road before I'll take a single step. Forgive my fear of what I can't see yet. Your word is enough light for just this moment — help me trust You for the next step, and the one after that, all the way home. Amen.

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible, an extended meditation on the value of God's word, and verse 105 gives one of its most quoted images: 'Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.' Ancient oil lamps didn't illuminate a whole road ahead — they cast a small circle of light just around a traveler's feet, enough to see the next few steps on an uneven, often dangerous path at night. The psalmist isn't describing a floodlight that reveals the entire journey in advance; he's describing exactly enough light to keep walking safely. This prayer is for the anxiety of not being able to see how everything turns out, when what you actually need is only enough light for the next step, not the whole map.
