Isaiah 43:1
Father, I have felt lost and unseen, weeping and searching as if no one knew where I was. Thank You that You have always been standing closer than I could tell. You call me by my own name, and I am Yours. When I cannot recognize You through my tears, speak my name and turn me around. Quiet the fear that says I am forgotten. Let me hear the tenderness in Your voice and answer, Teacher. I belong to You, and that is enough. Amen.

John 20 describes Mary Magdalene weeping alone outside the empty tomb on the first Easter morning, so overcome by grief that she mistakes the risen Jesus for the gardener. It is only when He speaks a single word, her own name, 'Mary,' that she recognizes Him. This prayer pairs that moment with Isaiah 43:1, God's promise through the prophet to a people in exile: 'I have called you by name, you are Mine.' Both passages turn on the same truth — being known personally and by name cuts through fear, grief, and the sense of being lost or forgotten. Mary came to the tomb searching for a body and instead heard her name spoken by the living Christ. This is a prayer for anyone who feels unseen, anonymous, or forgotten, and needs to be reminded they are known.
