Anxiety & Fear
Walking on Water
Matthew 14:30-31
Jesus, the wind is against me and I am sinking. You call me to step out and come to You across the water. When fear pulls me down, reach out Your hand and hold me. Amen.

“Lord, save me! Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him, saying, You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
— Matthew 14:30-31
Matthew 14 places the disciples in a boat on the Sea of Galilee at night, fighting a contrary wind, when they see Jesus walking toward them on the water and mistake Him for a ghost. Peter alone asks to come to Him and, at Jesus' word, steps out of the boat and walks on the water too — until he notices the wind and begins to sink. His cry, 'Lord, save me,' is answered immediately: Jesus reaches out and catches him before gently asking why he doubted. The scene captures both the reality of the miracle and the ordinary human experience underneath it, faith that holds until circumstances feel too loud, followed by a rescue that doesn't wait for perfect trust. This is a prayer for the moment fear has taken over after a step of faith and you need Jesus to reach out and hold on.
A new voiced prayer each day — for the morning, the commute, the sleepless 3 a.m.
