Isaiah 41:13
Lord, I have been holding on so tight — so afraid, so sure I was on my own. Thank You that Your hand has never let go of mine, that You hold my right hand and tell me not to fear. Today I stop gripping, and I take Yours. You are the One who helps me. Lead me, and I will not be afraid. Amen.

Isaiah 41 speaks to a people staring down exile and the loss of everything familiar — their land, their temple, their sense of security. Into that fear, God repeats a promise: 'Fear not, I am the one who helps you,' and pictures himself holding Israel's right hand, the hand used for grip, work, and defense. It's an image of a parent steadying a child who keeps stumbling, not a distant deity issuing commands from far off. The comfort isn't that the danger disappears, but that the hand holding theirs will not let go. This prayer is for the moment you realize you've been white-knuckling your way through fear instead of resting in the fact that you were never actually holding on alone.
