1 Peter 5:7 sits inside the apostle Peter's closing instructions to churches scattered across Asia Minor, believers facing real hardship and social pressure for their faith. Just before this verse, Peter tells them to humble themselves under God's hand; the casting of anxiety follows directly, as the practical shape that humility takes.
