Psalm 140
Lord, deliver me from violent men. Preserve me from those who plan harm. Guard my steps from the hands of the wicked, O Lord my strength. Cover my head in the day of battle, and let no weapon formed against me prosper. Amen.

Psalm 140 is a psalm of David, written from a place of real threat — surrounded by people described as plotting evil, setting traps, and 'purposing to trip up his feet.' This isn't abstract anxiety; it reads as a prayer from someone who believes actual harm is being planned against him by actual people. David doesn't pretend the danger isn't real or try to fight it in his own strength alone; he asks God directly to deliver, preserve, and guard him, then closes the psalm affirming that the Lord maintains the cause of the afflicted. It models bringing fear about other people's intentions straight to God rather than carrying it alone. This is a prayer for when you feel genuinely unsafe because of someone else's actions or intentions toward you.
